By train
Three lines serve Versailles: RER C to Versailles Château Rive Gauche (the closest to the Palace), Transilien line L from Saint-Lazare to Versailles Rive Droite, and line N from Montparnasse to Versailles Chantiers. Since the 2025 fare reform, a single Metro-Train-RER ticket (€2.55 in 2026) covers the journey — Versailles is not an airport, so the airport ticket is not needed.
Expect a 10-minute walk from Versailles Château Rive Gauche to the Palace gates, and busy trains in the morning on weekends and in summer.
